Worship

In the Bible, the worship in the New Testament is very different from that described in the Old Testament. New Testament worship does not focus on liturgy or rituals, temple adornments, or a special priestly class to officiate. Instead, the emphasis is on worship from the heart. Jesus best describes the spirit of New Testament worship when He was talking to the woman at Jacob's well in John 4:"God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth."

Churches of Christ take our worship pattern, as all other practices, from the New Testament. Accordingly, each Sunday we take the Lord's Supper to commemorate the death of Christ (Acts 20:7).

We also take up a weekly offering, a practice which dates back to the plan Paul gave for collecting money for the church in Jerusalem during a time of need. (I Corinthians 16:1-2).

Our singing is without instrumental accompaniment as called for in Ephesians 5:19, and as practiced by the first century church.

We think you'll like our friendly, informal, heart-felt worship. We hope you find us to be a group of people who truly love one another and who will welcome you.
